David Brin wrote a book called Existence where a character mentions a copter-sub. I would guess he meant it as a two part thing, sort of a submarine that launched a helicopter. But he didn't say that in the story. He mentions it and then goes on as if we all understand what it is. I'm not sure we all do. So, I will, without hyphenating it, put coptersubs in all my unsold sci-fi stories, and post them here.
